Dan Shanahan has received two Massachusetts Arts grants for two of his poetry collections:
- The Alaska Poems (Stone Soup Poetry – 1995), a collection that recalls his life in Alaska from 1972-1978.
- Crystal Lake (Stone Soup Poetry – 1997), poems on a lake in West Peabody MA. where two Salem witch trial victims live.
He is currently working on a collection of poems that looks back on the characters of the landscape, and landscape of characters he experienced as a boy in Holyoke, MA.
Dan’s third collection, The Lotus Seed Poems is an audio book that reflects on his life and perceptions following a spiritual awakening in 1975.
